Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The leadership of the Ministry of Health (MoH) on 2nd October carried out a high-level inspection of the newly constructed Maternity Centre of Excellence as part of preparations for its official commissioning.
The inspection was led by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sartie Kenneh, who, alongside senior officials, toured the state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance maternal and neonatal care nationwide.
The new centre reflects the strong commitment of Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, to safeguarding the lives of mothers and babies while expanding access to high-quality care.
Once commissioned, the Maternity Centre of Excellence will not only provide first-class maternity services but also serve as a training and research hub for healthcare practitioners.
The hospital is equipped with advanced medical technology, expanded bed capacity, and a highly skilled team of healthcare professionals.
The official commissioning, expected in the coming weeks, will mark a major milestone in Sierra Leone’s ongoing healthcare transformation agenda.
