Parliament Amends The Constitution of Sierra Leone

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Parliament of Sierra Leone has on Friday 11/11/2022, enacted into law, with some amendments the bill entitled,” The Constitution of Sierra Leone (Amendment) Act, 2022 for the good governance of Sierra Leone.

The Bill is being an Act to amend the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act No. 6 of 1991) to rename the “Political Parties Registration Commission as the ” Political Parties Regulation Commission”, to replace the administrator and Registrar General with Executive Secretary as Secretary to the Commission and to provide for other related matters.

The Constitutional amendment sailed through the Two-Third Majority, by Members of Parliament and it was passed into law.The Bill was piloted by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohamed Lamin Tarawally.
