Police Stop Jagaban's Free Medical Screening Event

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. A free medical screening event for the elderly, organized by Mohamed Sheik Kamara ‘Jagaban’ to mark the International Day of Older Persons, was abruptly canceled by the Sierra Leone Police today October 1, 2025.

The program, scheduled at Attuga Mini Stadium in Clinetown, aimed to provide essential healthcare services to senior citizens.

Despite prior arrangements, authorities intervened, citing the need for additional clearances from relevant ministries.

This incident adds to a series of disruptions faced by Jagaban’s initiatives. Earlier this year, the Sierra Leone Police also halted the groundbreaking ceremony for a proposed motorbike assembly plant, citing similar reasons.

Organizers reported that the police arrived on-site and stopped the event without prior notice or explanation
