Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Port Loko District’s entertainment landscape is witnessing a cultural shift, as a new movement—Entertainers for Peace and Development (EPAD)—rises with a bold mission to redefine the role of artistry in society.
Formed by a coalition of renowned and grassroots entertainers, EPAD was born out of a growing concern over critical social challenges such as youth unemployment, drug abuse, and political tension in the district.
The alliance aims to use music, performance, and public engagement as tools for peace building, civic education, and community development.
“Entertainment is no longer just about fun—it’s about purpose,” said S. M. De Editor, one of the founding voices behind EPAD. “We are entertainers, yes, but we are also agents of peace, education, and transformation.”
The initiative brings together influential figures including A-Score, DJ Fonz, DJ Father, Romansque, Prezo Bash, Prezo Sky, and others who have chosen to place impact above popularity. Their collective vision is clear: build a platform where creativity meets conscience, and where the arts become a driving force for social progress in Port Loko and beyond.
EPAD’s formation reflects a deeper awakening among the district’s entertainment community—one that prioritizes unity, responsibility, and activism. As the group gains momentum, many are already hailing it as the beginning of a new era in cultural unionism in Sierra Leone.
