Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Ports Authority Football Club has appointed Mohamed Bangura (Ahuwa) as its new interim coach.

The appointment came following the death of former head coach, Lamin Bangura who tragically lost his life following a fatal accident on the Bo highway.

The incident occurred as Bangura was en route to fulfill a scheduled fixture against Kahunla Rangers in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League. Despite efforts to save him, Bangura succumbed to his injuries at Rokupa Hospital in Freetown.

Bangura, a revered figure in Sierra Leonean football, had an illustrious career both as a player and a coach. He proudly represented his nation as part of the Leone Stars and notably guided Diamond Stars to victory in the 2013 Sierra Leone Premier League, leaving an indelible mark on the sport in his homeland.

Coach Ahwuwa who earlier served as Ports Authority defender has commenced training to continue with the remaining matches in the second Leg of the Leone Rock Premier League.
