Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio today received the Letter of Credence from Her Excellency M’Brah A. Georgette, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to Sierra Leone, during an official ceremony held at State House in Freetown.

The event marks another milestone in the longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship between Sierra Leone and Côte d’Ivoire, two West African nations with shared cultural, historical, and economic ties.

In a statement shared after the ceremony, President Bio expressed his delight in welcoming Ambassador Georgette, describing the occasion as a reaffirmation of the strong bond between the two countries.

“Sierra Leone and Côte d’Ivoire have fostered a strong and mutually beneficial relationship over the years,” President Bio stated. “Today, at State House, I had the honor of welcoming H.E. M’Brah A. Georgette, the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire, as she formally presented her Letter of Credence.”

President Bio emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the two nations in promoting regional peace, trade, and development under the framework of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

He also reiterated Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and deepening cooperation in areas such as education, agriculture, energy, and security.
