Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leone on Wednesday welcomed His Excellency Liu Guozhong, Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, as part of activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of the joint Sierra Leone–China response to the Ebola epidemic.

The visit underscored the ongoing cooperation between the two nations in health, infrastructure, and economic development.

During the visit, Vice Premier Liu participated in the inauguration of the Julius Maada Bio Industrial Fishing Port at Black Johnson.

The project, described as a major investment in Sierra Leone’s fisheries sector, is expected to boost processing and export capacity, support industrial fishing operations, and create employment opportunities.

Officials highlighted that the fishing port is part of a broader portfolio of Chinese-supported development initiatives currently underway in the country.

Vice Premier Liu also announced a forthcoming development package aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and supporting Sierra Leone’s economic growth.

Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration, particularly in trade, infrastructure, and investment, signaling continued partnership for Sierra Leone’s sustainable development.
