Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) has announced that the second phase of the 2024/2025 Premier League season will resume on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
In a public notice issued on Sunday, April 20, 2025, the PLB stated that the resumption follows a temporary break due to the Sierra Leone national U-20 team’s participation in the recent African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.
The PLB emphasized that the break facilitated crucial discussions with Premier League clubs and key government entities. These engagements focused on securing essential funding and logistical support necessary for the uninterrupted continuation of league activities.
Upon the league’s return, match fixtures will proceed with Week 21, adhering to the previously released schedule. Matches from Weeks 18, 19, and 20, which were postponed due to the break, will be rescheduled at a later date. The PLB indicated that further information regarding the new dates for these matches will be provided soon.
“Upon resumption, league activities will recommence with Week 21 fixtures as per the published schedule. Please note that fixtures for Weeks 18, 19, and 20, which were impacted by the break, will be rescheduled accordingly,” the PLB stated.
The Premier League Board conveyed its appreciation for the continued support and cooperation of all stakeholders as they work towards a successful conclusion of the current Premier League season.
