Sierra Leonean Students in Russia Urged to Be Patient

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. In a recent statement, the Sierra Leonean embassy in Russia acknowledged the concerns raised by students studying in the country over delayed stipends and reiterated its commitment to dialogue and diplomacy with authorities in Freetown.

The notice disclosed that the students are aware of engagements between the Embassy and relevant authorities in Freetown, specifically the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education and the Ministry of Finance, aimed at addressing the issue. And it’s regrettable that despite these efforts, the student body decided to go public with the matter.

While the Embassy acknowledges the need for payment of stipends, it call on all students to exercise patience and continue to prioritize dialogue and quiet diplomacy as the primary means of communication.

The Embassy vowed to continue to keep the students informed of any new developments regarding payment of stipends. “We will provide prompt updates through official channels and remain receptive to enquiries or concerns from students and their representatives.”

In conclusion, the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Moscow reaffirms its continued support for all Sierra Leonean students within the Russian Federation.
