Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), under the leadership of its President, Babadi Kamara, has announced the provision of free transportation for fans traveling to Monrovia, Liberia, to support the Leone Stars in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Burkina Faso on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Samuel K. Doe Stadium.

According to the SLFA, this initiative is part of President Kamara’s ongoing efforts to strengthen fan engagement and ensure that Sierra Leone’s passionate supporters stand firmly behind the national team wherever they play. The gesture comes directly from President Kamara’s personal initiative and builds on the success of the previous edition, which provided four buses for fans.

This time, the initiative has been significantly expanded with ten (10) buses available, two per region, giving more supporters the opportunity to travel and cheer the Leone Stars in person.

“President Kamara’s leadership continues to demonstrate his commitment to uniting fans across the country and ensuring their active participation in national team activities,” an SLFA statement noted.

Travel Arrangements

The ten buses will depart from their respective regional locations, with the Southern Arena in Bo serving as the main assembly point. Departure is scheduled for 9:00 AM sharp on matchday.

Upon arrival in Monrovia, all fans will gather at the Colony Hotel, where food and match tickets will be distributed before heading to the stadium. After the match, buses will return to the hotel for another meal before beginning the journey back to Sierra Leone. The final drop-off point will be at the Southern Arena in Bo.

Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans are encouraged to contact their regional coordinators to secure their free seats:

Southern Region: Abdul Ahmed Bangura – +232 76 412912

Eastern Region: Mohamed Patteh Jabbie – +232 78 705353

Western Area: Abdulrahaman Davies – +232 77 742830

North-Eastern Region: Abdulai Pascal Gbla – +232 77 552007

North-Western Region: Osman Kabbah – +232 88 612702

The SLFA further called on fans nationwide to rally behind the team, travel in unity, and fill the stands in Monrovia with Sierra Leonean pride.

“Together louder, stronger, and free of cost let’s push the Leone Stars to victory,” the association added.

This latest initiative underscores the SLFA’s continued commitment to building a stronger football culture, promoting national unity through sports, and ensuring that fans remain at the heart of Sierra Leone’s football journey.
