SLFA President Kamara Unveils New Premier League Board

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, paid a courtesy visit to the Leone Rock Metal Group today to express appreciation for the company’s continued and increasing support of Sierra Leonean football.

President Kamara, accompanied by the SLFA Acting General Secretary Mohammed Benson Bawoh, officially presented the newly constituted Men’s Premier League Board to Leone Rock’s management.

The delegation was received by Leone Rock’s Chief Technical Officer, Salim Sillah, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the growth and development of football in the country.

Leone Rock Metal Group has established itself as one of the strongest corporate supporters of the top-flight men’s league. The company significantly boosted its financial commitment, making a record-breaking sponsorship of Eighty Thousand United States Dollars ($80,000) during the 2023/24 season and increasing its support to an impressive One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) for the recently concluded 2024/25 season.

In his remarks, President Kamara commended the company for its exemplary partnership and dedication to national football development, noting that such corporate collaborations are essential to strengthening the football ecosystem.

President Kamara also highlighted the broader social impact of the company’s investment, stating that Leone Rock continues to thrive because of the peace and stability in the country—a peace that football helps to sustain.

He emphasized that football remains one of the strongest unifying forces in any nation. “Without it, many young boys and girls who are now playing the game could easily be drawn into drugs or even forced into unwanted and unplanned migration,” he warned.

Kamara stressed that the company’s contribution goes far beyond sponsorship—it is an investment in peace, youth empowerment, and national development.

The SLFA President further stated that the newly presented Men’s Premier League Board will work closely with local and international stakeholders to enhance the league’s organization, visibility, and competitiveness.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their mutual commitment to a long-term relationship.
