Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Tennis Association (SLTA) has secured a one-year partnership with tech-led organisation Korlie Limited, in a strategic move aimed at expanding tennis participation and nurturing young talent across the country.
The agreement, formalised during a signing ceremony marked by the exchange of binding documents, underscores SLTA’s commitment to strengthening grassroots development, improving player pathways, and promoting the long-term growth of tennis nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of SLTA, Andy Bam, described the partnership as a timely and forward-looking initiative for the sport. He noted that the collaboration will create new opportunities for players while laying a solid foundation for sustainable tennis development across Sierra Leone. “This initiative will open new opportunities for players and contribute to sustainable development within tennis nationwide,” Bam said.
Korlie Limited’s Managing Director, Cynthia Tsumake, highlighted the company’s role in supporting sports development through innovation and strategic collaboration. She emphasised that the partnership will help modernise training systems and expand access to opportunities for athletes. “This partnership will create meaningful opportunities for athletes and help modernise training and development across the country,” she stated.
As part of the agreement, both parties will implement a range of programmes, including talent identification, coaching support, improved access to facilities, and the introduction of technology-driven tools to enhance training and athlete monitoring. The initiative is expected to create clear pathways for young players to progress from grassroots to higher levels of competition.
The signing ceremony concluded with a friendly on-court session at the Sport Zone Tennis Court, where representatives from both organisations demonstrated their skills in a symbolic show of unity and shared purpose. The activity highlighted the partnership’s dual focus on athlete development and community engagement.
The collaboration reflects SLTA’s broader strategy to attract private-sector support and strengthen the foundation of tennis in Sierra Leone. Stakeholders remain optimistic that the partnership will not only boost the sport’s visibility but also inspire further investment in its development nationwide.
