Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Chairman of the APC Interim Transitional Governance Committee {ITGC} Alfred Peter Conteh has announced the commencement of Peace within the APC at the Party Headquarter in Freetown.

Chairman Conteh made announcement in a public gathering amongst APC supporters and the ITGC Secretary Abdul Kargbo at the APC Party Head quarter.

He stated “APC we are all one. We know everyone has said their own. One thing we know is that those that are in power fear us more than their deaths. They know that as we come together they are finished. We have come together as a party with one message. The message we have for those that wanted to divide us, the message we have for those that are the crux of the problem. We want to tell them that the lord has defeated them. We believe that anytime APC wants to assume power we fight amongst ourselves but when we enter is victory.”

However, Chairman Conteh was recently found guilty of contempt of high court orders and fined fifty thousand Leones new notes or run a prison term of 30 days.

In his judgment, Justice Adrian Fisher said the ITGC under the leadership of Alfred Conteh remains in full control of the APC party and that those who can’t work with the Interim body must resign.

Justice Fisher had warned that the ITGC chairman has no powers to appoint executive members to act in the regions as they are not National Advisory Council (NAC) to form such bodies and his decision to appoint interim chairmen is illegal. The Judge also said that there is nowhere in his earlier judgment where he stated that the chairman must receive donations on behalf of the party and a committee of five to be formed within the IGTC by simple majority to resolve membership issues and reinstate members during the party’s national convention.
