Tourist Board Threatens Closure of Beach Bars Over Fees

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The National Tourist Board (NTB) Enforces the Closure of Beach Bars Along Lumley-Aberdeen Beach For Non-Payment of Front Fees by September 30, 2025.

The National Tourist Board (NTB) further wishes to inform Beach Bar Operators and related Establishments operating along the Lumley-Aberdeen Beach area of their statutory commitment to pay their Annual Beach Front Fees for 2025.

‘’ We are now in the ninth (9th) month, and the majority of these operators have not paid their fees.’’

Furthermore, the press release was issued on 8th September 2025 by Umaru Woody, the Planning and Development Manager at the National Tourist Board of Sierra Leone.

Operators are hereby encouraged to regularize their status on or before the deadline of 30th September 2025. Failure to comply will result in the closure and possible further legal action (s).

The NTB reaffirms its commitment to supporting responsible tourism development while ensuring that all operators meet their obligations.
