Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leonean match officials will play a key role in the maiden edition of the West Africa Football Union Zone A (WAFU-A) U-17 Girls’ Tournament, scheduled to take place in Liberia from September 15 to 28, 2025.

Veteran referee assessor Alhaji Dawdu Williams has been appointed as a Referees Assessor, while Humu Marah will serve as a Central Referee during the two-week competition.

Their selection marks another milestone for Sierra Leone’s refereeing community, reflecting the confidence WAFU and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) continue to place in the country’s officials.

The U-17 girls’ tournament will bring together national teams from across the sub-region, offering a vital platform to nurture young female talent and strengthen the foundations of women’s football in West Africa.

In a statement, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) congratulated both officials on their international recognition and expressed confidence in their ability to represent the country with professionalism and pride.
