Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt, visited Moyamba District as part of ongoing efforts to engage with communities across the country.
During the visit, he met with local chiefs, political party members, civil society groups, and other community leaders.
The purpose of the visit was to build stronger relationships and explore ways to support economic opportunities in the district. Meetings were held to exchange ideas on how local communities and international partners like the United States can work together to improve living conditions and create new prospects.
Key topics discussed included agriculture, job creation for young people, trade and investment, education, and infrastructure. These are all areas that directly affect day-to-day life in the district. Community representatives shared challenges their people face and explored how stronger cooperation can help bring long-term benefits.
The visit also created space for open conversations between different groups in the district. Political party members and civil society actors took part in the discussions, helping to build a sense of shared purpose and understanding.
Many in the community saw the visit as a chance to connect directly with the US Embassy and share their development goals. It also gave the Ambassador a better understanding of the district’s needs and priorities, especially in rural areas that often face limited access to support and investment.
The visit is part of the US Embassy’s ongoing outreach across Sierra Leone. By meeting with people at the community level, the embassy is working to support ideas and partnerships that can lead to practical development and long-term improvements.
Ambassador Hunt and his team thanked the people of Moyamba for the warm welcome they received and the meaningful conversations shared during the visit.
