Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The United States Embassy in Freetown, Sierra Leone, has denounced rumours on social media claiming the US Diversity Visa DV 2027 entry registration is now open to the public.
According to the embassy, they are aware of the rumours and clearly stated that they are false.
The embassy stated that registration dates and details about changes to this year’s process will be announced by the Department of State when available.
The notice reads: “Don’t be deceived! The Diversity Visa (DV) 2027 entry registration period is not open at this time. We are aware of rumours and false reports that DV-2027 is open and of individuals and services falsely claiming they can increase your chances of selection. This is not true.
“DV-2027 registration dates and details about changes to this year’s process will be announced by the Department of State when available.”
The DV lottery is a U.S. government program that randomly selects individuals for a chance to receive a green card, which grants permanent residency in the United States.
It provides up to 55,000 immigrant visas annually and is intended to diversify the U.S. population by favoring applicants from countries with historically low immigration rates to the United States.
