US Sierra Leone Strengthen Partnership with Investment Collaboration

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leone and the United States of America are strengthening their strategic alliance by increasing investment and collaboration, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and minerals.

Chief Minister Moinina David Sengeh, accompanied by Finance Minister and Ms. Ndeye-Fatu Koroma of Sierra Leone’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact team, met with technical leaders from the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the US State Department to advance ongoing development efforts.

Sierra Leone, led by President Julius Maada Bio, is currently one of the top three recipients of US DFC contributions per capita.

This momentum has positioned the country in a strong position to obtain further US funding aimed at improving essential national infrastructure and economic resilience. Existing US DFC-backed projects in Sierra Leone include assistance for Nant Energy, improvements to Lungi International Airport, and investments in telecommunications company Africell.

According to government authorities, the country is working with the United States government to extend this portfolio.
