Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. In a powerful display of solidarity and regional collaboration, Sierra Leone’s football leaders embarked on a strategic visit to Liberia, reinforcing their commitment to football development just moments after celebrating a crucial victory in the World Cup qualifiers.
Coming on the heels of the Leone Stars’ 2-0 victory over Ethiopia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Badadi Kamara, along with members of the Executive Committee, paid a courtesy visit to Liberia Football Association (LFA) President Mustapha Ishola Raji at the LFA Headquarters in Monrovia.
The SLFA delegation comprised Vice President Ali Badara Tarawallie, and Executive Committee Members Haja Ramatulai Kamara, Abdul Osman Turay, Kwaku Lisk, Mohamed Sorie Jalloh, Joseph Benedict Mogba, and Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh.
During the visit, discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the two federations, with a focus on capacity-building initiatives such as the FIFA Connect Platform, the Competition Management System (CMS), and the Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS).
They also explored opportunities for referee, coach, and match commissioner development, alongside other innovative football projects.
A highlight of the visit was a tour of FIFA’s pilot “FIFA Arena” project, which aims to build six-a-side pitches to foster community engagement and grassroots football participation.
This visit underscores the growing partnership between Sierra Leone and Liberia in football development, marking a significant step forward for both nations’ sporting ambitions and celebrating a successful day for Leone Stars and Sierra Leone football as a whole.
