CECSHIP-SL give support to HIV vulnerable women in Kenema

A National Non-Governmental Organization Centre for Encouraging Caring and Supporting HIV People (CECHIP-SL) has distributed small scale business start-up kits support to vulnerable women in Kenema Nongowa chiefdom Kenema district.

In his welcome address the National Coordinator CECSHIP-SL Mohamed M. Tailu discribed CECSHIP as a national non governmental organization whose major responsibilities are to provide care, support, advocate and promote the human dignitiy for the vulnerable people and their closely related family members.

He explained that  CECSHIP-SL, with funds from Kfw/NAS/CARE/BakerTilly has been poviding support in diverse ways to its beneficiaries across the country. Agricultural support went to 20 vulnerable women at Bayama village and its environs in Small Bo chiefdom Kenema district who opted for agricultural activities.

The 20 beneficiaries were earlier  trained in small business enterpreneurship based on their choice of business before engaging in any business activity. Among the items distributed were 50kg of rice, palm oil, flour, vegetable oil, pepper, dried fish, salt and sugar. The Deputy Director east in the Ministry of Social Welfare Haja Alice Jeneba Koroma who chaired the ceremony said the beneficiaries are lucky as the start up kits will change their social status and adviced them not to misuse it.

The Deputy Mayor Kenema City Council Esther Guanya Kaisamba in her statement assured CECSHIP-SL of Councils support at all times and appealed to beneficiaries to use the items for its intended purpose. She appealed to the donor to give more support to CECSHIP as there are more vulnerables out there waiting to benefit.
