Africa-Press – South-Africa. The principal of Hartzstraat Primary School in Randfontein on the West Rand has been suspended for allegedly mismanaging school funds, the Gauteng Department of Education has said.
Department spokesperson Steve Mabona said the principal was suspended from 1 January 2022 to 28 February 2022 following the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
But the principal’s return to the school in March was met with disapproval from disgruntled parents and teachers.

The group held a protest at the school to voice their frustrations.
Mabona said there were protests and disruptions at the school this past week but the department was “closely monitoring the situation”.
He added a meeting was held with the school governing body this past Sunday, but no agreement was reached about the principal’s future at the school.
“We can confirm that a meeting took place on Sunday at the school, however, no conclusion was reached and as such a new date for a meeting will be communicated.”
