Africa-Press – South-Africa. A delivery man died after a vehicle, which was trying to overtake, crashed into him in Midrand.
News24 arrived on the scene to find the deceased’s body was being carried into a mortuary van.
His heartbroken family stood on the side in disbelief.
According to a witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the delivery man was coming from work when the driver of a Toyota Corolla tried to overtake from the opposite lane.
“This led to him colliding with the biker and further dragging his bike, and the driver ended in the veld,” said the witness.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello said police in Midrand were investigating a case of culpable homicide following the death of a biker at Dale road.
“The biker was hit by a car and was certified dead on the scene. Police investigation continues.”
News24 tried to interview the family, but they said it was against their culture to speak about death to the media.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla was rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries.
