Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two people have been arrested for trading in counterfeit car parts.
This week, the Hawks and brand protector experts from private law firm, Spoor & Fisher Attorneys, seized counterfeit Ford and Volkswagen car parts.
Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Philani Nkwalase said they searched two businesses, one in Tungsten Street in Kempton Park and another in Motor City in Midrand, Gauteng, where the counterfeit parts were found.
Nkwalase said they discovered large quantities of car parts and accessories with the Ford brand and logo during the search at the businesses.
“The goods worth a combined value of R150 000 were seized and transported to the designated counterfeit goods depot pending the finalisation of the criminal and civil cases against the suspects.”
Two people aged 33 and 40 were arrested.
