Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two crew members were injured on Monday when the aircraft they were in crashed at Wonderboom National Airport in Pretoria.

SA Civil Aviation Authority (Sacaa) spokesperson Sisa Majola told News24 that according to preliminary reports, the aircraft experienced engine failure during take-off.

Majola said:

“We will issue a preliminary report within 30 days of this accident. In instances where an investigation takes longer than 12 months to complete, there will be an interim statement indicating the progress made,” Majola added.

Majola said the final report would contain safety recommendations.

Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso told the Pretoria Rekord that the crew members had to perform an emergency landing when the aircraft experienced engine failure.

He said one of the aircraft’s wheels touched an electric fence.
