Africa-Press – South-Africa. Pretoria High School for Girls English teacher Domonique Bullock has become an overnight internet sensation after a video of her participating in TikTok’s Robot Boii’s Salary Salary dance challenge went viral on social media.
In the clip, Bullock can be seen displaying dazzling dance moves on school grounds in front of cheering pupils.
In a message communicated by the school on Tuesday, she said:
The school’s spokesperson, Kerry Lea du Toit, said the school felt Bullock’s video reflected the positive relationship between pupils and teachers.
Bullock broke out into dance in the school’s gardens on Friday morning during a farewell breakfast, which was organised for the school’s matrics ahead of writing their final examinations.
The breakfast took place after the Grade 12s were honoured in their final assembly.
“Once leaving the final assembly on Friday, the Grade 12 learners were treated to a breakfast where they were able to mingle and say goodbye to each other before the matric final exams begin. The dance took place at the breakfast and was impromptu,” said Du Toit.
Thrilled social media users have crowned Bullock the best teacher “in the world” following her performance.
The entertaining video has been watched more than five million times on TikTok.
The matric valedictory assembly and breakfast was an emotional event for both pupils and staff, the school said.
The Grade 12s sang their school song for the last time and bid farewell to their teachers and friends as they made their way out of the front door and down the Formal Gardens.
As part of the celebrations, they opened letters they had written to themselves as Grade 8 pupils.
Each letter was stored safely in a time capsule with a packet of seeds the pupils can either take with them to plant or donate to the school.
Pupils and staff shared hugs and tears and teachers were asked to sign their farewell message sheets.
