Africa-Press – South-Africa. Eskom will keep load shedding suspended until Sunday afternoon.
Eskom said that load shedding will remain suspended today, 14 October until 16:00 on Sunday, 15 October.
Thereafter, stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Monday, 16 October.
The embattled power utility said that this is possible due to breakdowns dropping to 12,168 MW whilst generating capacity out for planned maintenance stands at 6,484 MW.
“There’s a correlation between planned maintenance and the rate of failures of the units. The team is seeing when they return the units; these units remain on load for longer periods… their efficiency and reliability are improving,” the electricity minister Ramokgopa said earlier this week.
