Africa-Press – South-Africa. Support for the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party continues to grow in numbers in the hotly contested province.
With close to 52% of the votes captured, the MK party is well ahead of any competition.
But as we know, when it comes to results, one can never be too certain which way things will swing at the end of it all.
Currently, the MK Party has an overwhelming lead over any competition, with more than double the support of the province’s African National Congress (ANC) and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).
The latest figures place the MK Party at just under 700,000 votes, with the ANC in second position with about 275,000 votes, ahead of the IFP, who are just shy of 270,000 votes.
However, with that said, there are still a lot of votes to be counted and captured, but as it stands, the MK Party look to be setting the stage for the dawn of a new leadership under former President Jacob Zuma in the KwaZulu-Natal province.
