Molefe's R2.5 Million Bribe Claim at Madlanga Commission

Africa-Press – South-Africa. Multi-millionaire murder accused, Katiso “KT” Molefe, is alleged to have paid a bribe of R2.5 million to individuals handling his case in order to be granted bail.

The damning allegations were made by a Gauteng detective testifying on Tuesday afternoon before the Madlanga Commission.

Witness A is part of the investigating team that arrested Molefe in relation to the murder of Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart, who was killed in April last year. Molefe was later linked to the murder of DJ Sumbody and Vintos.

Serious allegations against the judiciary were made by Witness A, who claims the R2.5 million was paid by Molefe to be granted bail.

Molefe was previously denied bail in the Alexandra Magistrates Court but appealed the decision.

The Joburg High Court overturned the initial ruling and granted Molefe bail of R400,000 two weeks ago. This followed Judge Brad Wanless’finding that the State’s decision of refusing Molefe bail was unsubstantiated.

Witness A claims they knew this decision was forthcoming.

“Prior to this bail, we had already received this information from informers and sources to say, Katiso Molefe will get bail,” the witness claimed, adding that Molefe bribed officials with millions to secure his release.

“This was the figure that was given to us. He is going to pay R2.5 million for him to be granted bail,” Witness A said.

The witness did not, however, provide any evidence to corroborate the damning allegations made against the judiciary.
