Africa-Press – South-Africa. Evan Roos returns to the Stormers’ starting lineup against Ulster in a United Rugby Championship clash in Belfast as Ali Vermaak starts in his 50th match for the franchise.
Roos impressed on his return from injury last weekend, scoring a try when coming off the bench in the Stormers’ 30-16 Champions Cup victory over Clermont.
Interestingly, Hacjivah Dayimani is not in the squad for the Ulster match, and Roos will be joined in the loose forwards by flanks Junior Pokomela and Willie Engelbrecht.
In the backline, Jean-Luc du Plessis starts at flyhalf, with Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu in the No 12 jersey.
Cornel Smith will make his second appearance in this year’s URC as he takes his place on the left wing.
The bench includes Springboks Juan de Jongh, Scarra Ntubeni and Herschel Jantjies.
Speaking after naming his side, which features 10 changes from last week, Stormers coach John Dobson said he was excited by the combinations picked for the encounter.
“It is another short turnaround this week, but we are excited to see what these combinations can do,” said Dobson.
“We have been bolstered by the return of some experienced players, and we will need all of it against a good Ulster side.”
Kick-off is at 21:35 SA time.
