Africa-Press – South-Africa. Africa’s prominence globally continues to rise tremendously. With an economy of youthful minds and precious resources with enormous promise, the continent continues to make a case for why it should be regarded with greater importance than it is now. One aspect of Africa’s growth is in its military. In terms of military might, African countries have sizable standing armies and reserves.
While still catching up, African countries are making major military advances. Countries such as Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria continue to demonstrate the continent’s potential to build an impressive force.
As a result, several African countries are following suit, demonstrating also their abilities to grow relevant and capable military units.
Based on the Global Firepower (GFP) formula, which assesses military strength based on various factors, including manpower, equipment, logistics, finances, and geography, Africa’s military prowess is becoming increasingly evident.
The Global Firepower (GFP) formula, is based on Global Firepower, a platform that annually updates statistics of militaries across the globe.
A total of 46 countries are included in Global Firepower’s ranking of Powers on the Rise (2024) annual defense review, eight of which are African.
