Africa-Press – South-Africa. Altron is selling its office printer technology business, Altron Documents Solution, to South African-based firm Xerotech, as part of the company’s strategy of focusing its attention on core ICT entities.
Altron Documents Solution provides office printer technology solutions in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and is a strategic partner of Xerox.
Altron Documents Solutions also distributes Duplo finishing equipment and Fujifilm inkjet production machines in the local market.
The disposal is aligned with Altron’s shift to focus on its core ICT businesses. The strategy was adopted under the leadership of outgoing CEO, Mteto Nyati, who leaves the position at the end of June after a five-year term.
“This high invested-capital business is no longer core to Altron’s operating model,” the company said.
The proceeds received from the transactions will be applied to reduce the debt.
