Africa-Press – South-Africa. KwaZulu-Natal police issued an arrest warrant for Nzuzo Njilo and Kwanda Ntshangase for allegedly defrauding a businessperson during the sale of a truck.

Njilo is the son of the former mayor of Msunduzi Municipality, Themba Njilo.

Njilo was thrust into the spotlight when he married well-known media personality, Faith Nketsi, in a private ceremony last year.

The arrest warrant for the duo was issued on Tuesday by the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court.

According to KwaZulu-Natal’s police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the two are on the “wanted list in connection with a case of fraud”.

“They are alleged to have masqueraded as salesmen who pretended to be selling a truck in May 2021.

“The unsuspecting buyer went and physically viewed the truck at a dealership in Boksburg and later paid the two a substantial amount of money.”

The truck, according to Netshiunda, was never delivered.

“Since then, the duo could not be contacted and their whereabouts remain unknown,” he added.

It is not yet clear where the police have been searching for Njilo, but he has been seen in posts on his wife’s Instagram account since 2021.

The pair tied the knot in a private traditional wedding last April.

It was documented on her show, Have Faith, which is on MTV, City Press reported.

Last year, City Press reported that two businesspeople opened a case against Njilo for allegedly defrauding them of close to R1 million.

He allegedly received R978 104 during the sale of copper, which was never delivered.

Njilo senior speaks out

His father, Themba, told News24 on Wednesday he was shocked by the allegations against his son.

He said it had been some time since he had last seen him.

“He’s an independent businessperson and I don’t know much about his dealings,” said the father.

“I’m going to try and find Nzuzo, so as to understand what is happening.”

Nketsi told TshisaLive that, despite the allegations, she maintained her love for her husband.

Police are calling on anyone with knowledge of the pair’s whereabouts to contact Detective Warrant Officer Muzi Malunga on 076 982 9945 or 039 688 1185.

“Information will be treated with strict confidentiality,” a police statement reads.
