Africa-Press – South-Africa. The bodies of the three City of Tshwane contractor employees who died on Friday after a trench they were working in collapsed have been recovered.

The men, aged between 20 and 35, were buried in a hole that measured approximately 6m deep and 4m wide.

Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso told News24 that all three bodies were recovered early on Saturday morning.

“The first body was recovered around 05:00, the second body was recovered just before 06:00 and the third one was recovered around 06:20,” he said.

Rescue technicians used two earth working machines to create stable sloped access secured with shoring equipment.
