Brink no-confidence motion: Tshwane DA-led coalition urges ActionSA not to punish residents

Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Democratic Alliance (DA)-led coalition government in Tshwane has urged ActionSA not to punish residents as Mayor Cilliers Brink is due to face a motion of no confidence on Friday.

On Wednesday, the governing coalition in Tshwane held a media briefing where ActionSA was absent.

Political parties in attendance all pledged to support Brink but without the backing of ActionSA’s 19 councillors, he faces the possibility of losing his job.

Brink said his administration had made great strides in stabilising the city.

“There is significant room for us to stop, think rationally to say what is the best way forward, not for political parties, not for national leaders but for the people of Tshwane who depend on stability, who depend on our ability to get professionals to work for the city.”
