Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Bulls have acquired the services of former Lions front-rower Dylan Smith, the franchise announced on Monday.

The 28-year-old loose-head joins the Pretoria outfit on a three-year deal, bringing with him the experience of playing in two Super Rugby finals at the Lions and in France as a medical joker with Top 14 side Stade Francais.

“To be able to secure the services of a quality front-rower like Dylan Smith is massive for us at the Bulls,” said Bulls director of rugby, Jake White, in a media statement.

“Dylan is arguably one of the most talented props in South Africa. We have no doubt that he will contribute massively to the Bulls’ ambitions of continuing to grow to become one of the most competitive sides globally. We look forward to welcoming him to Loftus Versfeld and seeing him in the blue jumper.”

The Bulls have, however, bolstered the side of the scrum where they are already filled with talents such as Gerhard Steenekamp, Lizo Gqoboka and Simphiwe Matanzima.

After Springbok Trevor Nyakane’s departure to France last year, they are lighter on the tight-head side.
