CEO Resigns From R290 Billion Firm to Pursue PhD

Africa-Press – South-Africa. Fikile Mbhokota has resigned as the CEO of Satrix to pursue her PhD studies.

Mbhokota has led the company since 2022, having joined as CEO after nearly two decades in the investment industry.

Satrix has R290 billion in assets under management and offers a host of passive investment strategies.

Mbhokota holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and completed programmes at the Institute for Limited Partners and the World Bank in the USA.

She has been pursuing a PhD in Finance and Investments from Wits Business School.

Mbhokota’s notice of resignation applies to all her roles and responsibilities within Satrix and is effective from 31 January 2026.

The Satrix board of directors has accepted her resignation and expressed appreciation for her service and commitment over the last three years.

The company has wished her well in her future endeavours, with the board set to announce a replacement in due course.

Having grown up in Limpopo, she went on to work at Riscura, RMB Asset Management, Absa and the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF).
