Africa-Press – South-Africa. A panel interviewing candidates for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Head post heard that a complaint against Advocate Andrea Johnson has been escalated to the NPA’s Office of Ethics and Accountability.

Johnson was the last candidate interviewed for the position on Wednesday.

Six candidates are appearing before the panel in a bid for the country’s top prosecutor post, ahead of Advocate Shamila Batohi’s term coming to an end next month.

As she started her interview, Johnson told the panel that she received a letter yesterday informing her that one of the complaints lodged against her had been escalated.

“I’m not sure what was sent to them, I just received a letter that said we have received a complaint, we will not be looking into it, it has been escalated to the Office of the Minister.”
