Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two people were arrested on Monday for the possession of copper cables that were allegedly stolen from a mine in Mpumalanga.
At around 09:30 on Monday, the two people, aged 21 and 35, were arrested after police received information that copper cables were being stripped in Silobela, Carolina.
They went to the address they received as part of the tip-off, and found a bundle of copper that was suspected to have been stolen at a nearby mine. The two people were arrested there.
The estimated street value of the copper is R120 000, Mohlala added.

Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela commended Carolina police for the arrests.
The two people are expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
