Africa-Press – South-Africa. The former wife of a Zwide doctor, who was murdered inside his Gqeberha surgery early last month, appeared in the new Brighton Magistrate’s Court along with her two co-accused on Thursday.

Nothukela Ethel Noqekwa stands accused of orchestrating Dr Bantu Noqekwa’s murder on 3 May.

She was arrested in Cape Town earlier this month.

Noqekwa, dressed in a pink jacket and grey beanie, appeared alongside her co-accused, Siyabulela Gcayiya and Andile Jongi.

All three are facing charges of murder.

The case was postponed to 23 June for formal bail applications to commence.

Bantu was gunned down in his surgery, shot in the head before the suspects fled the scene.

The three accused were arrested a month later and, according to police, more arrests were imminent.

Before leaving the dock, family members of the late doctor, seated in the gallery, called out to Noqekwa, using her middle name, Ethel.

She, however, refused to look back, instead, getting up and immediately walking away as she descended the stairs to the holding cells.

Jongi and Gcayiya covered their faces with beanies as they left the dock.

Jongi also appeared on murder charges in another case in the same court on Thursday.

He is also accused of being involved in a shooting incident in KwaZakhele in February this year that led to the death of four young people.

Asandu Ngubo, 19, Sesethu Dweba, 22, Busiwe Notyabe, 23, and Bulumko Ngube, 29, were shot and killed while partying at a house in KwaZakhele on 12 February.

Three men allegedly entered the house and randomly opened fire, leaving four people dead and three others injured.

That case was also postponed to 23 June for a formal bail application.
