Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in eThekwini said it’s expecting most of its members to renew their membership despite the decline in support the party has seen in KwaZulu-Natal.

The red berets suffered a huge blow in the May general elections, with their numbers decreasing by 8% in the province.

The party also came under the spotlight following the exit of its former deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, who had been deployed in KwaZulu-Natal in the lead-up to the polls.

The regional chairperson in eThekwini, Themba Mvubu, said that despite all the issues facing the party, many had renewed their membership.

“We are running a campaign where all our branches or members are encouraged to renew their membership, and I can confirm with you that even our Regional Central Command Team members, all of them have renewed their membership.”
