Africa-Press – South-Africa. Free State police arrested a 28-year-old mother of two on Friday for allegedly raping a 14-year-old boy and paying him R100 to keep quiet about it.
The woman, from Tseki Village, is expected to appear in the Tseki Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of rape.
Free State police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring said information at their disposal indicated that the woman called the child over to her house when he was playing in the street on 1 September.
“On his arrival, she undressed and allegedly raped him and gave him R100 not to tell anyone.”
Mophiring added that the boy’s mother reported the matter to police last week.
The Phuthaditjhaba Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit took over the matter and took the child for a medical examination.
Mophiring added that the woman’s children were placed in the care of relatives.
