Africa-Press – South-Africa. Free State police are on the hunt for two men in connection with two unrelated rape incidents in Bothaville – the first of a 16-year-old girl in February 2021, and the second of a 20-year-old woman in June 2022.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, the teen was raped while she was on her way home from a friend’s house.

She told police that the rapist overpowered her, forced her to the ground and raped her twice at knifepoint.

“After the ordeal, he accompanied her home. The girl informed her grandmother, and a case was registered,” Thakeng added.

An identikit was compiled.

The perpetrator is 1.9 metres tall, of medium build, has a scar on his right cheek, and has short hair.

He wore a red or orange beanie, a blue and white check shirt, dark pants, and dark formal shoes.

In another incident, a 20-year-old woman was raped in Naledi, near Bothaville.

According to Thakeng, the man pounced on her while she was walking home from a tavern.

She said she lost consciousness after the man hit her and woke up while he was dragging her to a nearby house. He raped her at the house.

“The victim’s friends came to her rescue, but the alleged rapist managed to flee from the scene,” Thakeng added.

The man has a dark complexion, is slim, 1.8 metres tall, and has a beard.

“He wore a black beanie, coat, brown shirt, brown chino trousers and sneakers,” Thakeng added.
