KZN Political Killings Dockets to Madlanga Commission

Africa-Press – South-Africa. One hundred and twenty-one dockets that were previously held by the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) political killings task team will now be handed over to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

The dockets formed a central part of a series of explosive allegations made public in July by KZN Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

This, after they were confiscated and handed over to a team in Pretoria.

Last week, Police National Commissioner Fanie Masemola announced the dockets would be returned to the KZN political killings task team, but that’s since changed following a meeting between Masemola and Acting Police Minister Feroz Cachalia.

Police ministry spokesperson, Kamogelo Mogotsi: “The political killings task team dockets will be submitted to the commission in the format that they require. This is to ensure the integrity of the dockets and enable the commission to thoroughly investigate all the matters related to its terms of reference.”
