Africa-Press – South-Africa. A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a fellow passenger dead while they were on their way to Brickmakers Kloof in Gqeberha on Sunday.

The man, the deceased and two others had been travelling together. They knew each other.

“According to information, the suspect was sitting at the back of the vehicle when the passenger sitting next to him wanted to look at his firearm,” Eastern Cape police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said.

“The suspect removed the magazine and handed it to [the] passenger. After the passenger returned the firearm, the suspect replaced the magazine and pulled the trigger.”

The driver rushed the victim to a hospital, but he was declared dead.

Shortly afterward, police arrested the alleged shooter. He is expected to appear in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court soon.
