Africa-Press – South-Africa. Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube says contingency plans are in place to ensure matric exams run smoothly, despite the adverse weather warning.
The South African Weather Service issued a yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms for most parts of Kwazulu-Natal, including Mpumalanga, Gauteng and the Free State.
Gwarube said a lot of planning has gone to ensure that each exam centre in the country is prepared for any eventuality and no pupil will be stranded.
“For now, there is no cause for panic, we are in touch with the South African Weather Service, and we will be receiving regular updates from the leadership of KZN to hear where to from now,” she said.
