Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two women and an 18-month-old baby spent the night in the bushes after being kidnapped by three armed men who also robbed them.
Allegedly, on 19 July at around 19:30, three men wearing balaclavas and face masks stormed into a house at Schoemansdal in Nkomazi, Mpumalanga, where a 45-year-old woman, her 18-month-old baby and 31-year-old nanny lived.
The men allegedly held the victims at gunpoint and demanded cash, mobile phones, bank cards and car keys.
They forced the three victims into a gold Toyota Run-X, which belonged to the house owner and the three were then driven away into the bush at Hectorspruit, police said.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Selvy Mohlala said the suspects allegedly instructed the house owner to log onto a bank app on her phone and a transaction of undisclosed amount of cash was made.

“One of the suspects apparently then went to Malelane and cashed out the money, while the three victims remained in the bush with the other two suspects,” said Mohlala.
He said the following day at about 03:00 the victims were instructed by their assailants to walk away and never look back.
They were then given a lift by a good Samaritan and subsequently reached home, said Mohalala.
The matter was reported to the police and a case of kidnapping with an additional charge of robbery was opened.
