Munster's star lock RG Snyman on sidelines again, ruled out of Sharks clash

Africa-Press – South-Africa. Munster lock RG Snyman has been ruled out of Saturday’s URC match against the Sharks in Durban.

The Springbok was a star performer for Munster in their 26-24 win over the Stormers in Cape Town last week.

But he suffered a head injury in the game at Cape Town Stadium and Munster announced on their official website that the lock forward “will follow the return to play protocols and is unavailable for Saturday’s game”.

However, Springbok fans will be relieved that Snyman’s injury is not expected to be long-term. The towering lock has been plagued by knee injuries over the past few seasons.

Munster added that hooker Diarmuid Barron (neck) has settled well and will return to full team training. He scored a brace of tries against the Stormers.

Prop Dave Kilcoyne will increase his training load and his availability will be determined later in the week.

Munster are still in Cape Town and will travel to Durban on Wednesday, with Saturday’s final round-robin clash at Kings Park scheduled for 18:15.

Munster are fifth on the URC standings on 53 points, while the Sharks are eighth on 46 points.
