Africa-Press – South-Africa. A 41-year-old female security guard and her 42-year-old male colleague have been charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and indecent assault over allegations that they attacked a 16-year-old North West boy.
The incident happened in Tigane in Hartbeesfontein, outside Klerksdorp, on Tuesday. The assault was recorded and went viral on social media.

The woman had allegedly given the teenager R50 on Tuesday and asked him to buy cold drink for her.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the boy did not buy cold drink nor give the money back to the woman.
He said the woman then allegedly searched for the boy, eventually found him, and took him to the clinic where she worked as a security guard.
He said:
“During the incident, a video was [made] with a cellphone camera and later circulated on various social media platforms. In the video, a voice believed to be of the male suspect can be heard hurling insults at the boy and inciting the woman to assault the victim even harder. The severely assaulted victim was later taken by a good Samaritan to another clinic for medical treatment as the one where the incident took place was apparently closed,” he added.
Mokgwabone said the two security guards were expected to make their first court appearance in the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
North West police commissioner Lieutenant General Sello Kwena said he was shocked by the incident. He has instructed police to thoroughly investigate the case “to ensure that justice is served”.
