Africa-Press – South-Africa. The panel interviewing candidates vying for the position of National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) boss has grilled one candidate for having discrepancies in her curriculum vitae (CV).
Advocate Xolisile Khanyile, an experienced lawyer with over 23 years in the NPA, was the first candidate in the hot seat on Thursday.
The interviews of six candidates in total come as Advocate Shamila Batohi’s term comes to an end next month.
Khanyile is also the former Director of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), which deals with combating financial crimes such as money laundering and terrorist financing. However, it was the discrepancies in her CV that the panellists took issue with.
Xolisile: “If I were to be given the opportunity, Minister, because I don’t want my two hours to be focusing on this, and I end up not selling myself adequately. Can I be given an indulgence to really give more information or details on this?
Kubayi: “We are the panel who determines how the interview panel goes. Your CV is what sells you.”
Xolisile: “That’s true.”
Kubayi: “And is currently inaccurate. I’m not using what is not in front of me.”

The first candidate, Adv Khanyile has been grilled over the discrepancies in her CV.
While she admits to the inaccuracies She wanted the panel to focus more on the details she gives in her interview.
But the chair, Kubayi is concerned about the accuracy of the information.
