Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two accidents near toll plazas in KwaZulu-Natal have been recorded by traffic authorities.

About 11 children and two adults were injured in a scholar transport accident on the N3 southbound before the Mariannhill toll plaza.Their minibus taxi overturned shortly before 7am on Monday.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said a preliminary inspection indicated the driver of the minibus taxi lost control of the vehicle before it overturned, coming to rest on its roof.“The preliminary report indicates the minibus taxi overturned after a left rear tyre came off,” said KwaZulu-Natal transport MEC Siboniso Duma.

“I have tasked the Road Traffic Inspectorate team to work with police to establish the roadworthiness of the minibus taxi.”Duma said at about 8pm on Sunday a bus caught fire just after the Mandeni toll plaza.

The bus was travelling from a wedding to Durban.

“Three passengers, who were escaping the fire, were injured after they were hit by two light motor vehicles that were involved in a collision,” Duma said.
